MWR Sports & Fitness has three fitness centers (Sparkman Fitness Center, Col. Stephen Scott Fitness Center, and Pagano Gym) and an aquatics center (Redstone Aquatics Center) on Redstone Arsenal.  All fitness centers are equipped with cardio, strength, and free weight equipment. Pagano Gym has racquetball and basketball courts. The centers also have a full schedule of group fitness classes, including step, toning, turbo kick, Zumba™, boot camp, yoga, and more. Two centers have both a dry sauna and steam room for you to relax after your workout. The Aquatics Center has cardio equipment and a racquetball court. Do you want to start a workout program and just not sure where to begin? Overwhelmed by all the equipment? Did you know we have five Recreation Specialists on staff that offers FREE personal training? We offer group sessions of 3-5 or individual training sessions. Stop by one of our locations and grab a Health History Questionnaire. Once complete, you will need to call to schedule an appointment. Class Descriptions

  • Body Blast- Full body, interval toning and cardio circuit training workout.
  • Boot Camp- High intensity, full body workout targeting major muscle groups. Brave heart- High intensity intervals, cardio, strength and balance, total body workout.
  • Butts and Guts- Concentrated abdominal, gluts and lower back exercises using light weights and body resistance.
  • Cardio Challenge- Cardio based workout, includes strength and core.
  • Fitball- Total body toning to improve strength, stability and balance using stability ball.
  • Sculpt- Non aerobic, muscle toning focused on core and strength.
  • Step- Uses an adjustable elevated platform/bench for a great cardio workout.
  • Toning- Total body weight training using body weight and light dumbbells.
  • Step/Tone- Combination of step cardio and toning light weight training.
  • Turbo Kick- Cardio kicking boxing and body-sculpting.
  • Yoga- Relaxing mind and body conditioning, breath control, along with toning and stretching class.
  • Yoga/Pilates- Controlled stretch and strengthening exercises that engage the mind and body.
  • Zumba®- Energizing, rhythmic cardio incorporating dance moves to a variety of upbeat music.
  • Zumba® Toning- Light weight training incorporated into traditional Zumba® dance moves.
