The course was the 9th course in the world. It was initially designed as a nine-hole course in 1977 by Ken Headrick. Ken, was the son of Ed Headrick “The Father of Disc Golf”. In 1979, Lavone Wolfe, redesigned the course to become a full eighteen-hole course. The course has had a few minor changes including additional target positions but it is basically the same. Many players marvel at how the course is still relevant to today’s game even though it was designed when it was played with frisbees. Today’s high tech flying discs fly much farther and with much greater control.
The course has a rich history and is known by players around the world. It has been the host of hundreds of tournaments including two Professional Disc Golf Association World Championships in 1983 and 1993. Players can be found enjoying rounds on the course everyday unless the weather prohibits it.
